Training Built for the Real World

A NaviMinds CRMT/CRMI course challenges you to explore how attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours influence operational safety. You will gain hands-on experience delivering CRM sessions, ensuring a smooth transition into your role as a trainer.

Our approach is built on experiential learning, where you actively engage through realistic scenarios, group exercises, and facilitated discussions. Rather than focusing on theory alone, we emphasise reflection, application, and real-world relevance – ensuring learning is both retained and directly transferable to your operational environment.

Our CRM Trainer (Initial) course is fully compliant with EASA, ICAO, FAA, CAA, and other major regulatory frameworks worldwide.

Crew Resource Management (CRM) is a training approach designed to improve safety and efficiency by enhancing teamwork, communication, situational awareness, and decision-making among crew members.

Also known as Cockpit Resource Management, CRM focuses on developing non-technical skills – the cognitive and interpersonal abilities that support safe and effective operations. Cognitive skills enable crew members to gain and maintain situational awareness, while interpersonal skills support effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork in complex environments.

This CRM Trainer (CRMT) course equips participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to deliver engaging and impactful CRM training.

This course is designed for aviation professionals – including pilots, cabin crew, military personnel, and safety professionals – who want to deliver effective, compliant, and impactful CRM training within their organisation.

Suitable for those who wish to become CRM Trainers (CRMT/CRMI) in accordance with EASA AMC2 ORO.GEN.146, AMC1 ORO.FC.115 and/or AMC1-3 ORO.CC.115(e)

The course includes a comprehensive package of training materials and resources, ensuring you are fully prepared for your role as a Crew Resource Management Trainer:

  • Comprehensive 280-page CRM Trainer Manual (2025 edition)
  • Student handouts
  • PowerPoint presentations with guided trainer notes
  • Group exercises developed by NaviMinds
  • The Art and Science of Adult Learning (Handbook 2026)
  • Licence for internal use of training materials
  • EASA-compliant certification upon successful completion
  • Lunch, fresh fruit, and refreshments on all course days (in-person training)
  • Free access to Tivoli during course days
  • EASA-compliant CRMT assessment (if required)

There are no prerequisites required to attend the NaviMinds CRMT course.

No prior teaching experience required. Suitable for both experienced instructors and new trainers.

If you intend to become a CRM Trainer for flight crew (pilots), regulatory requirements apply. These include:

  • Knowledge of Human Performance and Limitations (HPL);
  • Completion of initial operator CRM training;
  • Relevant knowledge of flight operations within an operator;
  • Assessment by the operator prior to acting as a CRM Trainer

EASA requires completion of a Human Performance and Limitations (HPL) course. For most pilots, this requirement is already fulfilled as part of their ATPL training, whereas cabin crew may need to complete it separately.

At NaviMinds, we offer an integrated training pathway, allowing you to combine the CRMT course with the required HPL training and complete your certification process seamlessly.

Please note that these prerequisites apply only to participants who wish to act as CRM Trainers for flight crew members (pilots).

Upon successful completion, you will receive certification aligned with:

  • EASA requirements (AMC1 & AMC2 ORO.FC.115 / 146 & AMC1-3 ORO.CC.115(e))
  • ICAO standards
  • FAA and CAA frameworks

This ensures the course meets internationally recognised standards and is suitable for both individual participants and organisations worldwide.

NaviMinds is the market’s leading provider of crew resource management and human factors training. Since 1987, we have been collaborating with airlines and aviation organisations worldwide, ensuring our facilitators bring extensive experience and expertise to the field.

Our courses balance theoretical knowledge with practical elements, including the development of your trainer skills. We design CRM training to mirror real-world work environments, enabling you to seamlessly implement relevant topics into your line operations.

FAQ

We have gathered the most frequently asked questions from our customers to help you in the best way possible

A CRM Trainer Core Course is an initial “train the trainer” programme designed to qualify you as a Crew Resource Management (CRM) trainer.

During the course, you will learn essential CRM topics (in accordance with EASA requirements), along with the instructional techniques and facilitation skills needed to deliver effective training in safety-critical environments such as aviation, energy, and healthcare.

As a participant on a NaviMinds CRM Trainer Core Course, you will gain a deep understanding of human factors and their impact on operations—and, importantly, how to teach them to others. You will also develop the skills to manage group dynamics and conduct effective briefings and debriefings, ensuring that CRM principles are applied in real-world operational settings.

According to AMC2 ORO.FC.146, these are the requirements you must meet in order to qualify and act as a flight crew CRM trainer under EASA regulations:

“(b) Qualifications of a flight crew CRM trainer

        (1) Prerequisites. A flight crew CRM trainer should:

            (i) have adequate knowledge of human performance and limitations (HPL), whilst:

           (A) having obtained a commercial pilot license in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011; or

           (B) having followed a theoretical HPL course covering the whole syllabus of the HPL examination;

           (ii) have completed flight crew initial operator’s CRM training;

           (iii) have received training in group facilitation skills; except for instructors holding a certificate in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011.

       (2) In order to qualify as a flight crew CRM trainer, a person meeting the prerequisites should:

           (i) have adequate knowledge of the relevant flight operations at one operator, in accordance with (d);

           (ii) receive the initial training in accordance with (c)(3); and

          (iii) be assessed by the operator in accordance with (f).

       (3) In order to act as a flight crew CRM trainer at an operator, a qualified and current flight crew CRM trainer should meet one of the following conditions:

          (i) have adequate knowledge of the relevant flight operations at that operator, in accordance with (d); or

          (ii) be part of a team of trainers in accordance with (e).”

This makes the course highly relevant for professionals in healthcare, energy, law enforcement, and nuclear operations.

At NaviMinds, we use aviation as a foundation but actively incorporate cross-industry perspectives, allowing you to apply these best practices directly to your own operational context.
