This course is designed for maritime professionals responsible for implementing and/or delivering Human Factors training within their organisation, both ashore and on board.
The programme is highly interactive, combining Human Factors theory with maritime case studies, practical exercises, group activities and facilitated discussions. During the course, you will explore how Human Factors impact safety and efficiency on board and learn how to translate these principles into training that reflects the realities of maritime operations.

Human Factors training focuses on the non-technical skills that influence safety and performance at sea, including communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, situational awareness and fatigue.
In maritime operations, these principles are closely connected to Bridge Resource Management (BRM) and Maritime Resource Management (MRM).
During the Trainer Course, you will explore these principles from both a participant’s and trainer’s perspective, with a focus on how to teach and apply them in a maritime setting.
