SFI/TRI Teaching and Learning course
NaviMinds offer a three days Teaching and Learning course for those who wish to become SFI (Simulator Flight Instructor or Synthetic Flight Instructor) or TRI (Type Rating Instructor). The SFI/TRI course is designed to develop course participants’ competencies as instructor with focus on the learning process and teaching and feedback techniques in classroom, simulator and real aircraft environments.
We create a realistic training environment that enables participants to develop their own facilitation skills and we simultaneously take into account pilots with varying learning styles and from different cultures and backgrounds. The aim is to provide the best possible conditions for training future instructors on the respective aircraft type.
This Teaching and Learning course for SFI/TRIs is naturally in full compliance with EASA requirements.
We believe that a trainer is a role model to his/her trainees and part of setting the standards for flight safety.
“Trainees will do as you do – not as you say”
On a NaviMinds course, we keep this in mind in all training.
We cover the following elements; Human factors in a multi crew cockpit, The learning process, The teaching process, Training philosophies, Techniques of applied instruction, Student evaluation and testing, Training programme development, Human performance and limitations relevant to flight instruction, Specific hazards involved in simulating systems failures and malfunctions in the aircraft during flight, The human mind, Learning styles, Questioning techniques, The instructor’s role….. and more.
All is put together in a well-structured course dealing with the principals of teaching and learning in a fun and active manner. We add to the theoretical background with role-plays, video clips, interactive exercises and group discussions.
